Review Process & Timelines
Does your project require IRB review?
You’ll first need to determine if your project is human subjects research. If your research—systematic investigation designed to develop or contribute to generalizable knowledge—is done in conjunction with human subjects—a living individual whose information is collected via intervention/interaction or private/identifiable data—your project requires IRB review.
Note: Project reviews are conducted each year from the last week in August through the first week in May.
Student Research
All research conducted by students involving human subjects must be reviewed by the IRB. Students are expected to submit their research proposals through their faculty advisor who will serve as the principal investigator (PI) of the study. Students are to be listed as co-investigators (CI).
