Save the date for MSUM’s Practicing Restorative Justice Conference event, April 7-10. Hosted by MSUM’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Sociology and Criminal Justice Department in partnership with Consensus Council (ND), the conference will will bring together educators, practitioners, justice professionals, students, and community members to explore the transformative power of Restorative Justice in building stronger, more connected communities.
Keynote speakers will be announced and registration will open in January 2025. Participants may choose to register for the Circle Training, Conference, or the entire event. The Circle Training will be capped at 20 participants.
Breakout Session Proposals
Interested in sharing your expertise, experiences, and ideas with attendees? We are looking for a wide range of proposals that align with our conference themes: Justice, Education, Community, or Culture.
Sessions may explore:
- Applications of restorative justice in schools, juvenile justice, adult corrections, churches, and other community entities
- Research and evaluation on restorative practices and programs
- Philosophy and framework of restorative justice
- Stories from the field, lessons learned, and best practices
- Cultural perspectives on restorative justice
- Personal stories of those impacted by restorative practices
