School psychologists use their knowledge of psychology and education to help students of all ages succeed academically and socially. Through their skills in consultation, assessment, intervention and program evaluation, school psychologists work closely with teachers, administrators, parents and community agencies to identify and treat students’ problems.
MSUM’s School Psychology program enjoys a reputation for equipping graduates with knowledge and skills in academic, mental health, and systems consultation, assessment and intervention. In most parts of the country, the job market is excellent for school psychologists.
You may be eligible for up to $24,000 in scholarship through the Infuse Mental Health Project. This wide-reaching grant addresses a critical shortage of school-based mental health service providers, including school psychologists.

MSUM’s School Psychology program has been National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) approved for 30 years. It was one of the first programs in the country to receive NASP approval, and continues its tradition of excellence.

MSUM's school psychology faculty have doctorates in school psychology and experience as school psychologists in the public schools. The faculty focus on the success of the students and constantly open opportunities and discover new perspectives on topics in the field.
