Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice major at Minnesota State University Moorhead is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary program. You will earn a Bachelor of Arts degree and be eligible to work in many fields related to peace officer, law enforcement, courts, corrections, reentry and victim services. The Criminal Justice program allows you the flexibility to shape your career path to your own interests.
MSUM’s Juvenile Justice minor is one of the only programs in the United States where you’ll learn prevention and intervention strategies for dealing with at-risk youth and juvenile delinquents.
The Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training has certified MSUM’s law enforcement program. You can become a licensed police officer in the state of Minnesota by earning your Criminal Justice degree at MSUM and completing a 15-credit Law Enforcement SKILLS program.
Five concentrations allow you to focus on the aspect of Criminal Justice that interests you most. Concentrations include: Gerontology, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology.
