Study Abroad is an excellent investment in your academic goals, future profession and own personal development. It can also help set you apart, whether you want to pursue graduate school or a great career. There are several study abroad program options, including: exchange programs, external providers and short-term faculty-led programs.
Additionally, MSUM participates in an exchange program with the University of Agder. Norwegian English majors study here at MSUM, while our students can study there paying the same MSUM tuition rate because of Norway’s free socialized education. Learn more by contacting Dr. Sean Taylor.
You, your classmates, and faculty may have the opportunity to participate in faculty-led trips to conferences, exhibitions, or festivals, including…. the Red River Women’s Studies Conference, the Walker Art Center, the Fargo Film Festival, FM LGBT Film Festival, the Plains Art Museum, the Rourke Art Museum, and other regional or national humanities conferences.
Additionally, MSUM is fortunate to be only 16 minutes from the Regional Science Center, approximately 400 acres of prairie, woods, and river communities, with an interpretive center and an observatory, where students have engaged in humanities-based field work.
You can gain practical teaching experience as a writing tutor at the University Writing Support Center while earning a little extra cash. If you’re interested in graduate school, this tutoring experience is golden preparation when applying for teaching assistantships!
