About the Livingston Lord Library
The Minnesota State University Moorhead library is named after Livingston Lord, MSUM’s first president. The Livingston Lord Library has been a valuable resource in the MSUM community since the Moorhead Normal School opened in 1888.
In April 2014, the Library re-opened its doors to the public after an extensive two-year renovation. From heating and ventilation, to electrical and plumbing, the thorough revamp wasn’t complete without a major cosmetic makeover that gave the space a funky, ’70s-esque vibe.
