Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Joey Lauckner
Meet Joey Lauckner, MSUM’s new General Repair Worker. Joey fixes and services anything and everything on campus.
Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: An opportunity to work for a university. The people I know that have worked for universities have enjoyed it and really feel like their employers care about them.
Q: How do you prefer to start your day?
A: I make myself breakfast and coffee in the morning while watching an episode of a TV show.
Q: What energizes you at work?
A: The sense of accomplishment of seeing a problem and being able to provide the solution so others can have an easier time on campus.
Q: What do you do to turn things around when you’re having a bad day?
A: Usually I’ll listen to music, a podcast, or sports radio to reset my mind a little bit.
Q:What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
A: I’m a military veteran. I served in the Air Force and have been around the world more times than I can remember.
Q: What is your favorite place to eat in the FM area?
A: Acapulco, Casa Mexico, Sammy’s Pizza, or Duane’s Pizza.
Q: What is the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
A: My dad told me to try to understand what people have been through to get to where they are now, because there’s always a reason people give advice.
