A Force on the rink and in the community
Katie Merrick is the Vice President of Business Operations for the Fargo Force, where she leads and support all departments across the organization. She earned her bachelor's degree in communications and launched her career with the hockey team as a college intern, quickly rising to VP through her determination, creativity, and enthusiasm. In 2024, Katie led the Fargo Force to the best off-ice season in the organization's history. The team earned the United States Hockey League (USHL) award for Organization of the Year by shattering records in overall attendance, ticket revenue, food and beverage revenue, food and beverage per caps, social media engagement, social media following, community involvement and community fundraising.
Beyond the rink, Katie helped raise over $175,000 for 10+ local charities, including Sanford Children's Hospital and the Veterans Honor Flight. She represented the USHL at the NHL Drafts in Nashville and Las Vegas, and at the 2024 NHL Business Meetings in Boston. Currently based in Fargo, North Dakota, Katie continues to blend business excellence with deep-rooted community engagement. That's why Katie Merrick is being honored with the MSUM Foundation's 2025 10 Under 10 Award.
