Public Safety Services
MSU Moorhead Public Safety offers several free services to students, faculty and staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To utilize these services, please call 218.477.2449.
In order to help keep campus a safe place to live, learn and work, Public Safety holds various free safety classes throughout the year. From self-defense to first aid, our goal is to help prepare as many people as possible in the case of an emergency.
Services
- Safety Escorts
- Safety escorts are provided by MSUM Public Safety officers and sergeants 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No matter what time it is, give us a call if you need a safety escort from one location to another. Please note we only offer safety escorts up to a two-block radius surrounding campus.
- Jumpstarts
- If your car doesn’t start and you need a jumpstart, Public Safety can help you out. We provide free jumpstarts on campus and the two-block radius surrounding MSU Moorhead 24/7.
- Vehicle Unlocks
- If you ever lock your keys inside your vehicle, Public Safety can unlock your vehicle for you. Vehicle unlocking is a free, 24/7 service.
- Fingerprinting
- MSUM offers free fingerprinting services to the campus community members needing print cards for background employment checks or education majors for teaching license. Call Public Safety at 218.477.2449 for fingerprinting hours.
Classes
- CPR/First Aid/AED
- MSUM Public Safety and the Gerdin Wellness Center have partnered to offer two free CPR/First Aid/AED training classes to the MSUM community each semester. Dates and times will be posted on Dragon Digest and will be filled on a first come basis. Classes will be limited to the first 20 registrants each date.
- Personal Safety
- MSUM offers safety and security training to the campus community over the course of the calendar year. Classes include, but are not limited to:
- Active Aggressor/Personal Safety
- Basic Emergency Preparedness
- Basic Fire Safety
- Traveling Safely
- Living Safely and Securely in University Housing
